This is a call to all our knitters

……….. Prayer Shawls required

This is an appeal to pick up your needles and knit squares to help replenish our stock of Prayer Shawls.

Prayer shawls are given to individuals whom we feel may need a little bit of support and comfort. It is a tangible way of showing God’s love, through the love of those who have made the shawl. It is also a lovely way to extend our Ministry within the community.

This was demonstrated when our Pastoral Care visitors took a Prayer Shawl and card (see photograph) on their first visit to members of our church family. These Prayer Shawls become treasured gifts and a source of comfort.

To help this project, on Monday 17th February from 10.00 am, we will have a pop up stall (Pitcairn Centre) where you can pick up a parcel of wool to knit a Prayer Shawl. Don’t worry if you can’t make the 17th as the stall will remain for as long as we have wool!!

Knitting patterns for the shawl and prayer hands (optional) are available here and in the Pitcairn Centre. Completed shawls should be passed to Pam Thomson who co-ordinates this ministry for us.

Pam can be contacted on 0131 660 337.
